Every residential and commercial project we finish is backed by a written workmanship warranty. If paint we applied peels, blisters, or cracks because of our workmanship within the warranty period, we’ll come back and make it right at no charge for labor or standard paint.

We stand behind every paint job we complete in the Columbus Metro.

5-Year Workmanship Warranty

What Our Warranty Covers

Thrive Painting’s workmanship warranty is designed to protect you against problems caused by our work, not by the building itself or later damage.

On eligible projects, we will repair areas of peeling, blistering, or cracking paint that are the result of:

  • Improper surface preparation performed by Thrive Painting

  • Defects in our application of paint or coating materials

  • Other workmanship issues directly under our control

For covered issues, repairs are performed at no charge for labor and standard paint or stain materials needed to repair the affected area.

Warranty Terms & Time Periods

Different types of projects have different warranty periods so the coverage matches real-world conditions.

Interior & Cabinet Projects – 5 Years

For most interior wall, ceiling, trim, and cabinet painting projects, Thrive Painting provides a 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of substantial completion.

If paint applied by us peels, blisters, or cracks due to our workmanship within five (5) years, we will repair the affected areas at no charge for labor and standard paint.

Exterior Projects – 2 Years

For most exterior projects, Thrive Painting provides a 2-year workmanship warranty from the date of substantial completion.

If paint applied by us peels, blisters, or cracks due to our workmanship within two (2) years, we will repair the affected areas at no charge for labor and standard paint.

Project-Specific Exceptions

Some surfaces and conditions are not suitable for a 5-year or 2-year warranty (for example, previously failing fascia, horizontal surfaces that hold water, or high-moisture problem areas). Any exceptions to coverage will be clearly noted on your written estimate before you approve the work.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

To be fair to both you and us, our warranty does not cover issues outside our control, including but not limited to:

  • Any work where Thrive Painting did not supply the paint or coating materials

  • Varnished or clear-coated exterior wood surfaces that naturally weather or fade over time

  • Horizontal surfaces or areas that collect standing water (deck floors, rail caps, steps, tops of walls, etc.)

  • Exact color match over time – all paints will fade and age with sun and weather

  • Peeling, blistering, or cracking caused by:

    • Water leaks, flooding, or other moisture problems

    • Structural movement, settling, or cracks in drywall, stucco, wood, or masonry

    • Rust, knots, sap, or other defects in the substrate

    • Previous failing paint layers lifting underneath our work

    • Abuse, impact damage, or normal wear and tear

    • Cleaning with harsh chemicals, pressure washing, or abrasive scrubbing

  • Mold, mildew, or other biological growth

  • Areas not included on the original written estimate

  • Damage caused by other trades or contractors after we complete our work

This warranty is limited to the original customer named on the estimate and is not transferable to future owners. It is a workmanship warranty only and does not cover incidental or consequential damages of any kind.

What Our Warranty Does Not Cover

If you notice a problem you believe is covered by this warranty, here’s what to do:

1. Contact us by phone, text, or email and mention that it is a warranty request.

2. Provide your name, address, approximate project date, and a brief description of the issue.

3. If possible, email or text a few clear photos of the affected areas.

4. We will schedule an inspection within a reasonable time frame to confirm coverage.

5. If the issue is covered, we will schedule and complete the repairs at no charge for labor and standard paint for the affected area.

We aim to inspect within 10 business days, depending on season and weather.

Warranty FAQs

Q1. Does this warranty transfer if I sell my home or building?

No. The warranty applies only to the original customer named on the estimate who hired Thrive Painting for the work.

Q2. Do I need to keep any paperwork?

Yes. Please keep your written estimate or invoice; we may ask for it when you request warranty service.

Q3. Is paint or materials included in warranty repairs?

Yes. For covered issues, we provide both the labor and standard paint or stain materials needed to repair the affected area. Upgrades or color changes outside the original scope are billed as new work.

Q4. What if the problem is caused by a water leak, roof issue, or moisture problem?

Water-related damage and structural issues are not covered by the workmanship warranty. Once the underlying issue is repaired, we’re happy to quote repainting the affected areas.

Q5. What if the color looks slightly different after a few years?

All paints fade and weather over time, especially on exteriors. Normal color change or fading is expected and is not considered a workmanship defect.
